By car from Koblenz
-on the motorway/autobahn A61 to the exit Emmelshausen then via St.Goar with the car ferry to St.Goarshausen
-or leave the motorway/autobahn at the exit "Koblenz /Waldesch" , at first towards Koblenz but after 12 kilometers just before the Rhine bridge taking the direction Lahnstein / Rüdesheim, after passing the bridge take the exit Lahnstein / Rüdesheim and then after 2 km the exit Rheintal / Rüdesheim - B42. After about 20 km on the B42 in the Valley of the Lorelei on the right bank of the Rhine you will reach St.Goarshausen. From there it is a 5 km trip to the hill or 500 meters to the rock on the Rhine river bank (there are steps up to the top of the hill). From the Lorelei it's only 25 km to Rüdesheim.
By car from the Rhine-Main-Region
- coming from "Wiesbadener Kreuz" via A66 on a direct way to the B42 direction Ruedesheim- passing Rüdesheim and then 25 km in the valley of the Loreley
By car from Rüdesheim

By car from Ludwigshafen
- via A61 to "Dreieck Nahetal" , then via Bingen with the car ferry to Rüdesheim, from there 25 km on the B42 to the Lorelei.
- via A61 to "Dreieck Nahetal" , then on the motorway to Köln / Koblenz until the exit Emmelshausen , from there via St.Goar with the car ferry to St.Goarshausen.
By train to the station "St.Goarshausen"
From Koblenz direct trains each hour (direction Wiesbaden or Frankfurt).
From Wiesbaden direct trains each hour (direction Koblenz).
From Mainz with the "S-Bahn" (city express) to Wiesbaden, there taking the train to Koblenz
From Frankfurt every 2 hours with a direct train to Koblenz or with the S-Bahn to Wiesbaden, there taking the train to Koblenz.
From Rüdesheim every hour - direction Koblenz
By boat from Rüdesheim : several ship lines
Coming from Frankfurt-Airport
With a rented car via A3 to "Wiesbadener Kreuz" , there changing to A66 towards Wiesbaden, passing Wiesbaden and then reaching the national road B42 to Rüdesheim.
With the S-Bahn (city express) via Mainz to Wiesbaden, there changing to destination Koblenz.
Note : starting at Frankfurt, Mainz or Wiesbaden all trains may be used only with a ticket bought before embarking.
Coming from Hahn-Aiport
With a rented car on the B327 via Kastellaun to Emmelshausen, from there to St.Goar then taking the car ferry to St.Goarshausen.
There is also a bus-line with a stop at Bingen; from there you can take the train to St.Goar and then the ferry starting at the Rhine promenade.
